County Suicide Prevention Taskforce

The Centre County Suicide Prevention Task Force encourages everyone to step up for mental wellness.The task force includes representatives from the following organizations: BHARP, Central PA Chapter American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Centre County Can Help, Centre County Community Support Program, Centre County Drug and Alcohol, Centre County MH/ID, Children’s Advocacy Center, Choices, Community Care Behavioral Health

James E. Van Zandt Veterans Affairs, Jana Marie Foundation, Mount Nittany Health, Penn State University CAPS, Seven Mountains Media, Skills of Central PA, State College Area School District, Strawberry Fields, The Meadows/UCBH, and Tides.

The county has contracts in place with numerous mental health clinicians and psychologists who can provide treatment and training at the request of schools and others. Communities that Care address broader prevention issues with programming to address skill-building and making good choices.
